Project Spotlight: Metro at Fireclay

This month, we're highlighting Metro at Fireclay, a 346-unit multifamily community in Murray, Utah, owned by ColRich and managed by Greystar.

Earlier this year, Mereo Fiber completed a managed Wi-Fi deployment at the property as part of a takeover project. The community was previously operating under a Bring Your Own Router (BYOR) model and was looking to transition to a managed Wi-Fi solution that would provide a more streamlined experience for both residents and property staff.

The Project

The scope of work included the installation of a new circuit and deployment of a managed Ruckus Wi-Fi network throughout the community. The goal was to successfully transition the property from a BYOR environment to a fully managed solution while maintaining service continuity for residents.

As with many takeover projects, the team inherited existing infrastructure and cabling that had been installed over time by previous providers. Understanding and working through those existing systems was a key part of the deployment process.

Working Through the Details

Because Metro at Fireclay is an occupied community, coordination was critical throughout the project. The team worked closely with property staff to complete the deployment while minimizing disruption to residents.

Following cutover, a few unexpected issues arose involving elevator and Area of Rescue communication lines. Working alongside MyLinkLine, new ATA devices were installed and services were restored the same day. The quick response helped keep the project on track and ensured critical systems remained operational.

A Successful Transition

Takeover projects often come with unknowns, but strong communication and collaboration helped ensure a smooth transition at Metro at Fireclay. By working closely with property management and project partners, the Mereo team was able to successfully complete the deployment and bring the community online as a managed Wi-Fi property.

The result is a modern connectivity solution backed by ongoing support, giving both residents and property staff a reliable experience moving forward.
